WHAT TO EXPECT AT YOUR VISIT
I implement effective psychotherapy methods to instill self-understanding among patients and encourage them to adopt new attitudes and feelings towards life situations.
It is essential to keep in mind that therapy is not a magic pill or a quick fix: therapy is a healing process that necessitates participation and investment from the patient and caretaker alike.
But in the end, making small changes to self-defeating behavior and coping with feelings of sadness, fear, and pain can bring life-altering results.
ABOUT ME
The way I practice psychotherapy has been shaped by the different teachings and trainings I received throughout years, by the teachers and mentors that have accompanied me, and also by my own personal therapeutic process and continuing supervision.
My first professional steps started in Greece where I completed my psychology degree. Thereafter I moved in the Netherlands where i completed my postgraduate studies focused in assessment and interventions for children’s and adolescents' developmental, behavioral and emotional difficulties.
I then moved to London where I worked in multifamily programs and I gained experience in working with families and their children with a wide range of diagnoses from Autism to less severe disorders.
Since then I have worked on various clinical settings, in several places in the world, including:
Institutions with people with special needs, International schools, international centers of psychotherapy, orphanages, hospital clinics and NGO’s.
Since 2014 I live in Spain where i completed my second specialization in Family and Couple Therapy and started working with families in a more systemic way. I also conduct parental consultation sessions and I run groups with kids or with parents.
My approach to therapy is integrative, as I believe different currents answer to a given situation with valuable and unique perspectives. That is why I like to integrate the whole person in therapy, and be aware of the body, the emotions, the cognitive processes, the behaviour, relationships and the need for growth and transcendence.
Ever since the beginning of my career, I have been a passionate professional with an avid interest for working on challenging cases. My exposure to multiculturalism, my affection, and my sense of commitment to every case, are some of the guiding elements of my work.
